That’s right you’ve  read right, Electronic Entertainment Expo E3 is to be no more. It has been missing in action for the last couple of years thanks no thanks to covid for hindering its appearance in 2020 and the subsequent years. Let’s see what’s happening in a concise short post:

the video game conference that has been taking place annually since 1995 is officially dead acording to The Washington Post exclusive interview with president and CEO of the entertainment software Association ESA Stanley Pierre Louis.

He said that after more than two decades of hosting an event that is served as a central showcase for the US and the global video game industry, E3 would be no more. It appears that this comes after the covid pandemic forced this non-profit organization of the video game industry to cancel E3 2020. So, it was as I suspected it’s thanks no thanks to covid.

Then they suggested to go all digital for E3 of 2021, I really don’t remember if it was that successful that year or if I even watched it, and then it seems they canceled it on 2022. the event that was supposed to happen for E3 2022 did not happen, this year E3 was also canceled as the ones scheduled for 2024 and 2025.

Yet not All Is Lost, as I read on the Kotaku article on the e3’s demise, I understand that the organizers of the now defunct E3 are promising a reinvented showcase that would come in a few years. Now, this is interesting and exciting but at the same time, it pains me to learn that such a huge event, a celebration to video games, has ceased to exist.

Every June I would be glued to my chair and staring straight at the screen for all those new hot game reviews and releases for the rest of the year or the upcoming year. It’s really sad, truly sad to see it go like, this thanks no thanks to some decease out there, hate it we all hated it we all hate it now. As I read through the article I quote from the organizers “we are committed to our role as a convenor for the industry and look forward to sharing news about E3 in the coming months” Hopefully, it would become Phoenix, to resurge from its ashes.

What about you? do you miss E3? remember when they revealed the PlayStation? when the new president of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé stepped into the spotlight, now he’s out of the spotlight!? Indeed, these are great memories to treasure. Regardless, we will still be here enjoying video games!. Let me know down in the comments how this news impacted you…
